BLACK HOLE VORTEX

Most of us have had an attraction to astronomy and the night sky at some time during our lives.  Mine started early in childhood when looking through binoculars at the moon.  And it continues even today, as I continue to look forward to the latest findings in astronomy research in Scientific American, and especially those reports on the origin and ultimate end-state of the evolving universe.

This piece was inspired by one of the most mysterious objects in the night sky -- black holes.  The spirals top and bottom represent magnetic lines of swirling matter and energy produced by black holes.   The black hole itself resides invisibly at the intersection of the vortexes. -- at least that is how I think about it.
